Global Worldloppet skier

In the spring of 2005 we conducted a survey on the degree of interest of our members for a new recognition proposed for the Worldloppet offering. It concerned those who have skied all 14 WL races. The result was an overwhelming support for this idea. The IAWLS Executive Committee submitted a detailed proposal to WL in October. It was approved by the WL Executive Committee in its October meeting, considering that while not disturbing the existing WL activities, it can be beneficial to the Sapporo Ski Marathon and Kangaroo hoppet.
The final decision will be taken by the WL Annual General Meeting in Lienz, June 16-18, 2006. The IAWLS President and another Executive Committee member are invited to present the GWLS project to the AGM delegates, and the decision will be taken following the presentation and a discussion.
In the wake of the survey, one of the skiers who wrote to us said: "I would ask for your input on this before I go wild and embroider my jacket next January". Do it, Pete!
