Jizerská Padesátka, January 14

As the photo shows, the race was cancelled for good reasons. The start area was completely bare. The tennis court in the background was news to us; it has always been the snow-covered start gate before. Even at the higher elevations there were only patches of icy snow. We appreciate that the race committee made the unpleasant decision to cancel this years events in a timely manner. It allowed many skiers, but not all, to change their travel plans.
