Jizerská Padesátka 2010
February 19, 2010
This year both races during the Czech weekend were held under mitigated weather conditions, mild temperatures and falling snow : the track on 30K skating race Bedrichovska was covered with 10 cm of fresh snow and not very fast uphill but the downhill was rather fast and the distance seemed less than 30K overall, with the winners time being 1:02.
On Sunday the temperature was milder and around zero which made it very difficult to wax. As a result during the first 7 km uphill many skiers were gliding backwards, while situation suddenly improved when reaching the top of the first climb. Weather stayed very cloudy during all the race and at the end snow was falling hard making globally the race a challenging and rather slow one, with the winners time 2:14.
The worldloppet master reception on Friday evening was very well organized, with very good food, and just close to the evening party with historic skis with gave participants opportunity to spend a nice evening.
Some IAWLS members time.
