Marcialonga 2011

The last Marcia-rennett was a great Nordic success.
2395 people coming from Norway, 1047 from Sweden (and 150 from Finland) : altogether 3600 on 6600 starting.
Since Marcialonga decided to stop free technic, the race became the place to be for Nordic skiers.
It’s difficult to found an hotel for only two nights and a lot of Italians cannot get a bib for their race !!
But …the direct turn over for the valley is 7 million € !
And with money, a lot of things are possible, even to prepare perfect tracks … without natural snow.
It was a very good edition: good tracks, nice weather, ideal start (but 15 minutes bottleneck before Moena after 30 km for the slow concurrent).
Minus 6° a the start, minus 2 at the finish line : some concurrent finish in the night. No trouble with the wax : every wax was good : skare blue or stick violet !
Allways people on the villages and a fantastic finish in the Cavalese streets.
Marcialonga is a big pleasure… and 45 km quiet descent.
