Treasurer's report

By this expression that has become famous for each IAWLS General Assembly, the treasurer presents the originality of our association: the committee does a big promotional work without ever trying to transform it into money. No membership fee, nor sold services on the one hand. No salaries, paid services or reimbursed expenses on the other. Let's first note that this is possible thanks to Internet that allows to communicate free of charge with the whole world, and to the digital photo that can be exchanged freely. And because all members of the Executive Committee are active skiers who pay their travels from their pockets and not external officials who require the reimbursement of their representational expenses. However, this 0 = 0 hides a lot of work, time taken out of the private life of the committee members. How many hours does Bengt, our webmaster, give to all Worldloppet skiers to allow them to live our races, our debates and our friendly requirements? How many hours do all committee members devote to your passion? The total amount is hundreds of hours annually. It is free of charge. 0 = 0 ! And that makes the force of our association and guarantees its future. Everything is not and must not be business in life. Even time is not money! If it were, all of us would ski much much faster in Worldloppet races! I thank you for your attention and I apologize for not being present at the General Assembly: I will be in Mora for my 22nd Vasaloppet!
